Task 1c: Starting out on BAPP

So I have to admit I have been dreading this task. Mainly due to the fact that I can't stand hearing myself back on videos but also because I have never actually made a Youtube video before. Like most of the other Web 2.0 tools it turned out to be pretty simple and a lot less difficult than I had thought it might be (although I still don't like hearing myself back any more than I did). So heres a brief introduction of me and what I want to gain from this course.

  1. Hi Emma.
I have complete empathy for you. I too detest hearing myself talk and also watching myself. I spoke to my advisor on this and they explained that it was totally up to us on how we do our videos. So I've decided to not have a complete video of myself talking, but will add images with myself talking in the background.
Well done on plucking up the courage to do what you've done. It's a really informative video.
Hope all is well in Estonia.
    Happy blogging x

    1. Hi Kimberly,
Thats interesting to hear as I may have approached this task differently had I known. I like your idea as it also incorporates task 1d and the use of imagery but to illustrate your spoken word. Looking forward to watching your clip :)

  2. Hi Emma,

I really enjoyed your video, it was short and straight to the point! I have been dreading doing mine and putting it off for a while! I know I would start laughing, you done well. You seem to know exactly what you want to get from the course and I hope it helps with everything in your performing career!

I am going to have a little browse at some more and hopefully just bite my tongue and do mine this week!

Take care Emma, Look forward to reading more posts :)

    1. Hi Mel,

Thanks for your comment! I'm not going to let on how many takes it actually took me to get the last one! Good luck with yours. I'll look out for it :)

  3. Hi Emma,

Great Video! I know when I see we had to complete this task I was like NOOOO haha. But I have to say I am more than likely going to be using this method of reflection and communication again! I surprised myself. Sometimes reading someone's blog may not be as beneficial as actually videoing.

Do you think you'll use this method of web 2.0 again?

I like how you done the creative parts to your video! I didn't do this as I couldn't figure out how to. so if you could let me know how you did this it would be great as it will help me when you tubing in the future.

Really clear and strong video - did you make notes before you begun the video? (I did this, it helped but I still had to do a million takes until I actually got my video how I wanted it to be) must of been my nerves!

    1. Hi Beth,

Surprisingly me too.. I think I would use this web 2.0 tool again as sometimes I prefer to watch and listen to information rather than read it so having youtube videos makes a nice change to learn from. When I was doing it I did write notes to look at aswell (I'm quite an organised person too like you mention in your blogs ;) ). They helped although I still took a fair few times to get the right clip!

The creative parts took me a while to figure out.. if you have a mac it is on the imovie app. I basically just played around with different themes etc on there. I youtubed a few videos on how to upload my clip from there onto youtube which also helped. This was one of them :
